New TV ads
posted on October 20th
We released two new television ads today. One ad, titled “Fix Washington,” highlights Joe’s positive agenda for the future and his ability to work across party lines to help fix the partisan gridlock in our nation’s capital. Another ad, titled “Protect,” highlights the work Joe has done to help parents protect children from violence and other negative influences from television and the internet. You can watch them below:
“Protect”
Woman 1: There’s just no time day or night where I feel comfortable letting my daughter watch television alone without me with her.
Lieberman: That’s exactly how I felt about our children and why I worked in Congress to get the rating system for video games and the v-chip for television.
Woman 2: And now with the Internet you don’t know what your kid is watching or who they are talking to.
Lieberman: Well, that’s why I am going to lead the fight in Congress to crack down on Internet predators, so that our kids can be safe.
“Fix Washington”
Lieberman: We all want to fix Washington. The question is: how do we do it?
I’ve always worked across party lines to get results for people, now I want to give a tax credit to home buyers, end our dependence on foreign oil, and bring our troops home from Iraq without compromising our security.
Finger-pointing and negativity don’t accomplish anything. We fix Washington when we put people ahead of politics.
I’m Joe Lieberman and this is my message.

There are so many things WRONG if this ad and it starts with " I’ve always worked across party lines to get results for people" -- every time Joe joined hands with any of the Republicans it meant giving up the vote on the Democratic side! There is NOT ONE Republican vote that Joe can say he won over to our side! Someone needs to tell Joe, “wanting to do” is NOT the same as getting it done! Trying to pay my high energy bills, my high healthcare costs, and my high property taxes with Joe's “wanting to do lip service” DOESN’T WORK! We need a real business person, Ned Lamont, who knows the meaning of negotiating, and who WON'T be kissing up the Republicans for committee chairmanships that benefit their greedy special interest!
Joe LIE-man has been fixing Washington for the last 18 years. And he has become a millionaire in the process. How have you been doing?
Is America better today than 18 years ago before Joe LIE-man began "reaching out across the aisle"?
Joe Lieberman has divided this State in so many ways it’s disgusting! Instead of accepting the CT Democratic wishes on August 8th, he decided to thumb his nose at us and is now running the most ugly campaign ever, while trying to pretend he is “Mr. Nice Bi-Partisan” – that’s what 18 years of being in DC did for Joe. It made a man who went in with honest intentions come out being totally dishonest!
Woman 2: And now with the Internet you don’t know what your kid is watching or who they are talking to.
Lieberman: Well, that’s why I am going to lead the fight in Congress to crack down on Internet predators, so that our kids can be safe.
*** WHY has Joe Lieberman become and apologist for Hastert/Foley (and everyone else knowledgeable about the internet stalking of a minor?) If he thinks people of Connecticut are this STUPID, he really has to GO. He's only been leading the real fight - a WAR - sending our kids AWAY from safety and into the real threat of DEATH.
Joe has got to go.
Bring the troops home...OMG. Funny, I didn't catch that bullet point in his "10-point 'plan'". Just another example to use if we run across a woman like I did the other day phone banking - "do you have proof he lied?". After saying yes ma'am, she blithered incessantly about 'weasely' and 'shifty-eyed' Ned so I could not list some examples for her.
